Running just office applications you’ll want at a minimum 256 MB (B00006HVT3). Having more will definitely help you out and we recommend at least 512 MB (B00008AYBE) for best performance. Try to stick with name brand manufacturers such as Corsair, PNY, and Kingston among others. Faulty RAM can be hard to detect and produce flaky systems.
